Howe Avenue Elementary

2022:

This week, a former intern of the SHARE Institute realized her dream of graduating from Sac State and fulfilling all the requirements of a teacher’s credential.

She has been hired to work at Howe Avenue Elementary School. She received a grant from The SHARE Institute to purchase classroom materials for children unable to pay their own.

It’s very rewarding to see SHARE interns joining the workforce and realizing their dreams.

2023:

SHARE funded an elementary school in Sacramento to establish their own leadership group which assessed community needs. They called their group "Howe Avenue Helpers." Together, participants identified homelessness as the focus of their organization. They distributed 120 bags to meet the needs of the homeless within their community. The grant helped students learn about civic duties and won them many awards.

2018:

The SHARE Institute funded a 3rd grade classroom at Howe Avenue Elementary School to support the cost of the entry fees for students who visited the Powerhouse Science Center in Sacramento, California.  With new science curricular standards, the field trip allowed students to experience hands- on applications of science skills that they learned at school. Students mentioned that they learned so much about the planets and greater universe.
