Literates Welfare Association (India)

Literates Welfare Association (LAW) is a non-profit voluntary organization that works in remote rural areas of Tamil Nadu for women empowerment, youth development, mother and child health activities, and environmental education among reproductive age women and commercial sex workers.

2006:

The SHARE Institute awarded a mini-grant to LAW which was used to raise awareness and educate women of reproductive age and commercial sex workers in the region on the issues of STDs, especially HIV and AIDS.  The goals were to provide contraceptive counseling, enhance healthy practices, and offer non-stigmatized STD care.
